The 'Bengali Band Scenario' started with a true sense of community once upon a time. But this event really shows how suffocated the scenario really is right at this moment of time. All the people who were involved in the band in the past are:-
- Nilanjan Sen.
- Sayantan Biswas (me that is).
- Sourayan Biswas.
- Shankhayan AKA 'Babumoshai'.
- Anwesha Gupta.
- Swagato Kar AKA Bappan.
- Uma Kanto AKA Umz.
- Vikram.
- Somedeb AKA Tutul.
- Aninda AKA Laltu.
- Nilanjan Paul AKA Pappu.
- Palash Da.
- Debdulal Das AKA 'DD'.
- Debashish AKA Potla.
- Tirthankar (though for a very few days).
- Debankan (I was noted quite late that he'd been in the band for almost 10 months).
- Sayan (not sure about him though).
- Prodosh Da (almost forgot about him).
Now if they claim 'Prachir' is a fresh setup, they might as well have got rid of the numbers 'Porichoy' and 'Hotash Prithibi'. Anyways, what is done is done. I don't want to crib so much about it. This marks a sad day for Bangla Rock and Bengali Rockers.

I too played in Prachir for roughly a period of 4-5 months. Played three shows with them.
well i agree wit you on this ; we all know it was never a band formed overnight.., what i'd known and noticed over these few years is that arko evolved into prachir.. people came people left.. a lot of changes.. bt well ami jodio dekhini oder album ta., bt tui jaa bolchhish.., i expected a 'history' section to b there..,
-- one of the most important parts about a band is always the way it grows up.. its something major to talk about for bands.. i think they screwed up ekhane!
however, at some level ,i've been friends with both you guys and them.. hope people change for good..; cuz life's too fckkin short to keep grudges dude..
as for you.. this is the best move you could take on your part to bring it out to the forefront.. its transparent and i know of it.. and m sure many of us know of it..,

The 1st album of any band is not just sentimental to the existing members. The ex members who did put in a lot of time and sweat do still have some sentiments attached to it. THey do deserve even a passing refferance.

Forget sentiments, the number 'Porichoy' was completely composed by me, the lyrics written by Nilanjan Sen and the arrangement done by Sourayan. Except for tweaking/changing a few words, it's still that exact same song.
Now literally speaking, how can you have a song of somebody without even putting a single mention of the original author? Heck, I can even SUE them without any doubt. Not that it would be too difficult. This is disrespect to the community man.
But I do agree 'Hotash Prithibi' has been changed upto like 35% to 40%. But I still think it's not legitimate to not put the original authors' name even in this case.
It makes sense, cause there's hardly one number of theirs that matches up to Porichoy

I don't believe ex members leave bands cause they lack musical merit. Professional music really is a pathetic source of income, which even the members of Prachir will testify(I know for a fact that one of them works at a call center, another is looking for a big job and a 3rd one works as an event manager).
The ex members have some family, responsibilities, and they also have the ability to earn much better than the measly income from music.
